A man and a woman had to be rushed to the hospital following a pedestrian accident that occurred this morning.
Pedestrian Accident
According to a Tempe Fire Department spokesman, a man and woman, both 45, from Tempe were hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Priest Drive and Warner Road. According to Tempe fire marshal, Deens Shepard, the two were in serious condition as of 7 a.m and were transported to Chandler Regional Medical Center. The investigation is still on-going.
Reconstructing the Pedestrian Accident
When a pedestrian accident occurs, and there are no eye-witnesses, it’s often hard to understand just what occurred. The accident essentially has to be reconstructed by investigators in order to get a full understanding and thus assess liability. The dynamics, methodology, and principles involved in reconstructing a pedestrian accident are slightly different than those used to reconstruct car accidents. A investigator will examine car speed as well as pedestrian speed (which can be very difficult to determine), perception and reaction time, as well as highway design and sign placement. An investigator also looks at the pedestrian’s impact kinematics, which is how the pedestrian moved at or through the impact phase of the collision.
Hiring a Pedestrian Accident Attorney
Because reconstructing a pedestrian accident can be a difficult process, it’s crucial that you work with an attorney that can ensure a proper investigation of your pedestrian accident is performed. That way correct liability can be determined. An attorney will be able to assist you in putting together a case that will help you recover any lost compensation, due to inability to work or medical bills, for injuries or losses suffered in a pedestrian accident.
