Two people are dead after one driver ran a red light, causing a car accident.
Driver Ran Red Light
According to police, one car sped through a red light at McQueen and Elliot roads in Gilbert, killing the drivers in both cars. According to Gilbert police spokesman, Sgt. Jesse Sanger, the collision also knocked over a traffic-light pole. Sanger also said both drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.
Car Accidents Caused by Running Red Light
Running red lights is a top cause of car accidents in the United States. This action caused nearly 1,000 wrongful deaths, and roughly 90,000 cases of personal injury. Red lights are put in place to ease traffic flow, but unfortunately when drivers or distracted or in a hurry, observing them and paying attention to them falls by the wayside. All too often, drivers see a yellow light and think “hurry,” rather than “slow down.” This mentality has led to staggeringly high amounts of car accidents that result from running red lights.
