A month after the hit-and-run car crash that took her brother’s life, Cedric Jody’s sister is still searching for answers.
Her brother, a 28-year-old young father was killed in a hit-and-run crash when a white van struck him near 38th Avenue and Indian School and then fled the scene.
Cedric had been on his way home to his sister’s house - just a few blocks away from the scene of the crash.
The driver still has not been caught and the police still have no leads in Cedric’s death.
Still Questioning Hit-and-Run Accident
“How do they sleep at night?” wonders the victim’s sister, Veronica Jody. “How do they go day to day knowing that they hit somebody and they just kept going? What did they have to hide that they had to run and not turn themselves in yet?”
Cedric Jody was Veronica’s little brother. She says he looked out for him and he for her. “Mostly I miss his text messages every morning,” she says. “Before I left for work, it was always, ‘Good morning sister, you have a good day at work.’”
Family Left Behind
The family is just looking for answers so they can get the closure they need. “My parents need that closure,” Veronica says. “And I need that closure.”
He leaves behind a 5-year-old son. “How do we explain to him that his dad’s not coming anymore?” asks Veronica.
